Annalena Baerbock’s Residence
As a Foreign Minister, it is part of Annalena Baerbock’s profession to travel extensively. However, beyond her political work, she leads a family life.
The 43-year-old lives with her family in the capital of Brandenburg, Potsdam. Baerbock found her personal happiness in Daniel Holefleisch, whom she met during an internship in Brandenburg. Together they have two children.
Married since 2007, they not only share family life, but also their enthusiasm for green politics. Holefleisch, who was long involved in the communication of the Greens, is now working as a Senior Expert Corporate Affairs at the Deutsche Post DHL Group in Berlin.
The Foreign Minister’s Upbringing
Born on December 15, 1980 in Hannover, Baerbock spent her childhood in Pattensen on a farm. Her interest in world events became apparent at an early age. An exchange year took her to the USA, before studying Political Science and Public Law in Hamburg and later obtaining a master’s degree in Public International Law at the London School of Economics.
She began her professional career as a journalist at the “Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung”. Baerbock has been a member of Alliance 90/The Greens since 2005.
