Assassination, violation, robbery, desecration, humiliation – how did this collection of perversions and the pleasure of mass-psychotically indulging in them and then also publishing them in videos, come into the minds of Palestinians on October 7th?
One answer is: they were taught in schools, by their teachers. They got their pay from the United Nations, specifically: From the UNRWA. Which received their money from Western democracies. The most was paid by the government of Joe Biden, the second highest contribution worldwide was paid by the government of Olaf Scholz.
Now the traffic light coalition is arguing about what to do with the organization, predominantly consisting of Palestinians. Or whether it should continue at all. Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock and Development Minister Svenja Schulze emphasize the fundamental indispensability of this UN organization, FDP politicians, on the other hand, stress its fundamental impossibility.
Was or is German foreign policy naive?
Above all, the question that also loomed over the long-nurtured Russian relations: Was or is German foreign policy naive? Did it turn a blind eye to the fatal role that this organization plays in the Middle East conflict, as the Israelis have been warning about for years. The recent revelations are just the latest in a long series:
According to reports, 1200 out of 12,000 UNRW employees are “operative,” that is, “active” in Hamas or the Palestinian Jihad. 23 percent of male employees of the UN sub-organization are active in Hamas. And at least 12 UNRWA employees were involved in the massacre of Israelis on October 7th. This is stated in a report by Israeli intelligence, which the US considers credible and was first reported by the “Wall Street Journal”.
The UNRWA has long been a scandal-ridden organization. This can be proven based on teaching materials for which the organization is responsible. These materials teach Palestinian children that the 1948 war against the existence of Israel is not yet over. And that the Palestinians have a right of return. To “their” land, which has never been a state. This raises the explosive question:
How do the millions from Germany, recently increased by Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, for the UNRWA fit with the commitment of “Never Again” in the Sunday speeches of the traffic light politicians?
The massacres were frenetically celebrated by UNRWA teachers
Hillel Neuer is the head of the NGO UN Watch. This Tuesday, he reported to the US Congress, the Foreign Affairs Committee, about a chat group of 3000 teachers from UNRWA schools. The organization analyzed 249,000 user posts by these teachers. There, the massacres by Hamas terrorists of the Israelis on October 7th were frenetically celebrated: they were “holy warriors.” This was written by Safaa Mohammad Al-Najjar, a computer teacher at a girls’ preschool in Rafah in the Gaza Strip.
Isaa Abdul Kareem Mezher, an Arabic teacher at a UNRWA elementary school in Gaza, commented on the massacres according to the Hamas charter: “God is the Greatest.” The Hamas charter calls for the annihilation of the Jewish people.
UN Watch has analyzed Telegram chats. And it relies, as does the “Wall Street Journal” currently, on the findings of Israeli intelligence services. These are based on the interrogation of captured Hamas terrorists and the massive evaluation of telephone data. Deutschland zahlte auch 202 Millionen
Der Bericht von Hillel Neuer vor dem US-Kongress behauptete, dass Angestellte der UNRWA israelische Geiseln in ihren Häusern festgehalten hätten. Schulen der Untereinheit der Vereinten Nationen seien als Waffenlager und Ausgangspunkte für Raketenangriffe gegen Israel genutzt worden. Der Boden eines Kindergartens sei mit Sprengfallen vermint gewesen. UNRWA-Beschäftigte hätten Unterstützung bei dem Bau der unterirdischen Tunnel für die Hamas geleistet. Zudem seien Sprengstoff und Waffen in einer Klinik in UNRWA-Taschen geschmuggelt worden.
Vor dem Kongress beklagte Hillel Neuer, dass die Regierung Biden bisher Milliarden Dollar an die UNRWA überwiesen habe. Dennoch seien auch 202 Millionen aus Deutschland geflossen, wobei Annalena Baerbock die Hilfe – mit humanitären Gründen – noch einmal erhöht hat. Zusätzlich steuerte die EU-Kommission unter der Leitung der CDU-Politikerin Ursula von der Leyen im Jahr 2022 weitere 100 Millionen zum UNRWA-Budget bei.
UN Watch hat den systematischen Antisemitismus der UN-Behörde seit Langem dokumentiert – seit einem Jahrzehnt. Die Organisation hat auch fast genauso lange die UNRWA sowie ihre Geldgeber aufgefordert, zumindest die palästinensischen “Hass-Lehrer” rauszuwerfen, aber es ist nichts geschehen. Nun sei eine historische Gelegenheit gekommen, die UNRWA als Quelle der palästinensischen Opfer-Erzählung und des genozidalen Hasses auf Israel abzuschaffen.
FDP und ein Vertreter der Grünen fokussieren nun die UNRWA
Dies ist nun das Thema der Debatte in Deutschland. Die FDP hat die Debatte eröffnet. Die Liberalen möchten nicht länger an der bisherigen offiziellen Darstellung des Auswärtigen Amtes und des Entwicklungshilfeministeriums festhalten, nach der die UNRWA angeblich bemüht sei, alles aufzuklären. Ihr Generalsekretär Bijan Djir-Sarai spricht von einem “systemischen Problem des Hilfswerks”. Laut dem israelischen Botschafter Ron Prosor besteht dieses Problem schon so lange, dass es auch die Außen- und Entwicklungshilfeministerin hätte wissen können: Die UNRWA steckt bereits seit langem mit den Hamas-Terroristen unter einer Decke.
Das hat auch Volker Beck, ein ehemals führender Politiker der Grünen und heute Präsident der deutsch-israelischen Gesellschaft, bestätigt: „Skandale der UNRWA sind seit vielen Jahren bekannt.“ Und: „Die Organisation ist terrorbejahend“.
Daraus ergeben sich unangenehme Fragen an die Außen- und Entwicklungshilfeministerin:
Wie konnte es passieren, dass deutsche Steuergelder in eine UN-Organisation geflossen sind, die seit Jahren mit Skandalen zu kämpfen hat und seit Jahren unter dem Verdacht steht, eine Vorfeldorganisation der Hamas zu sein und die nun der aktiven Verwicklung in Terror glaubhaft beschuldigt wird?
Die Aussagen von Svenja Schulze klingen jetzt wie Hohn
Noch am 13. Dezember des letzten Jahres erklärte das Entwicklungshilfeministerium, dass die korrekte Verwendung deutscher Hilfsgelder an die UNRWA geprüft wurde – und “die Kontrollmechanismen haben sich als robust erwiesen”. Es seien keine Hinweise auf eine Zweckentfremdung zu finden gewesen.
Das Ministerium von Frau Schulze erklärte auch den politischen Sinn der Kooperation mit der UNRWA: Es gehe um bessere Lebensbedingungen und eine “umfassende Entwicklungsperspektive einer Zwei-Staaten-Lösung”. Das deutsche Engagement für die Stabilität in palästinensischen Gebieten sei “Ausdruck einer besonderen historischen Verantwortung für die Sicherheit Israels”.

What the federal government recently considered impossible has long since happened
Christoph Hoffmann, who chairs the Committee on Development Assistance, states that the rebuilding of Gaza is “impossible with UNRWA”. Baerbock and Schulze argue that UNRWA is indispensable. There are doubts about this: Assistance could also be organized by the Red Cross or UNICEF, argues Johann Wadephul, vice chairman of the Union parliamentary group.
Just under two weeks ago, CDU member Tilman Kuban asked the Foreign Office in the Bundestag during the government questioning whether it could guarantee that the Gaza aid, now increased to 211 million euros, would not fall into the hands of Hamas. Annalena Baerbock’s Minister of State Tobias Lindner responded, “I can also not guarantee that aliens will not land in the plenary now.”
Regarding the complex situation of UNRWA, Hamas, and the role of the German federal government, it can be stated: The aliens have landed by now. And what the federal government recently considered impossible has long since happened: with taxpayer money, the terrorist organization Hamas was at least indirectly financed.
By the way, even Joe Biden, on whose re-election the federal government fervently hopes, now has a problem: seven years ago, Biden’s predecessor suspended US funding for UNRWA. The money was being misappropriated, explained Donald Trump sagaciously.
