In Thuringia, the Edeka entrepreneur Peter Simmel, owner of 20 branches in Saxony and Thuringia, recently filled his advertising brochures with the slogan “For democracy – against fascists”. However, Simmel’s courage was not met with understanding among his customers. Instead, they called for a collective boycott.
Now, Simmel has publicly offered his apologies.
Simmel: “I apologize to you”
On his Facebook profile, Simmel writes, “Some felt attacked by the wording, for that I apologize to you.”
He did not intend to offend anyone who disagrees with the policies of the traffic light coalition. After all, he is also dissatisfied with the current political situation in the country.
