The „Bild“ reports that at the SPD conference, one of the 600 delegates present suffered a fainting spell and collapsed. While bystanders called for the German Lifesaving Society (DLRG) and the Workers’ Samaritan Federation (ASB), Federal Health Minister Karl Lauterbach immediately rushed to the scene with a backpack of emergency supplies on his back.
“I helped stabilize the circulation,” Lauterbach said after the emergency. “Everything went well.”
Today’s Federal Minister of Health, Karl Lauterbach, passed the medical exam in 1989 and obtained his doctorate in medicine in 1991.
Patient Soon Recovered
After receiving emergency care and being transported to the treatment room of the exhibition hall in a wheelchair, the person in question was cared for for about 30 minutes before feeling well enough to resume participating in the conference, as reported by the “Bild”.
