As a result, the highest basic salary for an EU official would rise to 23,262 Euros. This salary and pension increase for approximately 50,000 employees represents a cost of around 70 million Euros for the EU institutions.
In 2022, the staff of EU institutions received a salary and pension increase. To be able to manage the additional costs, the EU institutions must reallocate funds.
