Union’s Slight Decline – AfD Holds High Numbers
In the first week of the year, the Union has slightly lost support. According to the Sonntagstrend, which the opinion research institute Insa conducts weekly for “Bild am Sonntag”, CDU and CSU came in at 31% this week, one percentage point lower than the previous week. The SPD, on the other hand, gained one point and reached 16% this week.
The AfD managed to maintain its high percentage of 23% from the previous week. The Greens remained steady at 12%, the FDP at 5%, and the Left Party at 4%. The other parties were able to gather 9% (+/-0) of the votes (including 3% Free Voters).
For “Bild am Sonntag”, the opinion research institute INSA surveyed 1204 people from January 2nd to 5th, 2024 (TOM). The maximum margin of error is +/- 2.9 percentage points. Question: If the federal election were to take place next Sunday, how would you vote?
